The Mt. Ashland Hill Climb is a one-of-a-kind endurance challenge that showcases the stunning trail system and elevation-rich terrain surrounding Ashland, Oregon. Held annually in early June, this iconic hill climb begins at 1,900 feet in Lithia Park and finishes at the 7,500-foot summit of Mt. Ashland, offering participants over a vertical mile of continuous ascent across scenic singletrack and fire roads.

More than just a race, the Mt. Ashland Hill Climb is a celebration of the region’s outdoor community and trail stewardship. All proceeds from the event benefit local nonprofit organizations dedicated to maintaining and expanding Ashland’s trails and promoting outdoor recreation for all ages.

Beneficiaries of the Mt. Ashland Hill Climb:

  • Ashland Woodland and Trails Association (AWTA) — This is a volunteer-driven nonprofit committed to preserving, maintaining, and expanding public access to trails in the Ashland area. Working in close partnership with the Forest Service, Parks Commission, and Pacific Crest Trail Association, AWTA ensures the trails we love are sustainable and accessible for hikers, runners, bikers, and equestrians alike.

  • Ashland DEVO — This is a youth mountain biking organization that fosters grit, resilience, and camaraderie through adventure-based riding. Their programs help kids and teens develop both technical skills and lifelong confidence through team-based mountain bike training and competition.

  • Rogue Valley Mountain Bike Association (RVMBA) — This is a nonprofit dedicated to building and maintaining world-class trails in Southern Oregon, from Ashland to Grants Pass. They champion inclusive access, adaptive-friendly design, and community-building through advocacy, volunteer trail work, and events like Bike Prom. RVMBA is also a proud chapter of IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association).
