Overview

Friends of Pompeys Pillar is a passionate nonprofit dedicated to protecting and celebrating one of Montana’s most iconic landmarks, Pompeys Pillar National Monument. With roots stretching back to the early preservation committee that saved the site in 1991, the Friends have carried forward the mission of education, conservation, and community connection.

This group works side by side with the Bureau of Land Management to recruit and coordinate volunteers, host educational programs, and keep the Monument alive with stories from the Lewis and Clark Expedition and beyond. Whether you come to explore the history, join a school program, or volunteer in the interpretive center, you’ll find a welcoming and enthusiastic community helping to safeguard this piece of American heritage.
