Alaska
Overview
Alaska Trails is a nonprofit dedicated to building, maintaining, and advocating for sustainable trails across the state. We provide funding, technical support, and guidance for trail development, maintenance, safety, easement acquisition, and education, ensuring Alaska’s trails remain accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
As the only statewide organization supporting all Alaskan trails, we partner with trail users, volunteers, businesses, community organizations, and government agencies to strengthen the network of trails that connect people, communities, and the economy. Through stewardship programs, education initiatives, and collaborative partnerships, Alaska Trails cultivates a diverse and inclusive community of trail advocates and leaders.
Our mission is to create and sustain trails that inspire outdoor adventure, foster healthy communities, and protect Alaska’s unique landscapes—today and for generations to come.
