Overview
For more than 40 years, the Durango Running Club has been at the heart of the running community in southwest Colorado. Born in the late 1970s as “Durango Motorless Transit,” the club grew from a handful of weekly group runs into a thriving hub that celebrates both the history and future of running in Durango.
From the iconic Narrow Gauge 10 Mile Run—first held in 1978—to trail favorites like the Kennebec Mountain Run, DRC has built traditions that bring runners together year after year. Alongside races, weekly group runs, track workouts, and long runs keep the community connected, whether you’re chasing a marathon PR, discovering trail running, or just looking for camaraderie on the miles.
The club honors its past while looking forward, continuing its mission: to serve and connect runners of all ages and abilities, and to keep the spirit of running alive across Durango’s roads, trails, and mountains.
