Overview
Forest Park Conservancy is the heartbeat of Portland’s beloved urban forest, bringing together thousands of volunteers each year to care for Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park. From trail maintenance and invasive plant removal to leading educational hikes and welcoming visitors as Forest Ambassadors, volunteers make it all possible.
Since our founding, we’ve trained over 2,000 volunteers who collectively log more than 7,000 hours annually—rain or shine—to keep our parks healthy, safe, and accessible. Whether you’re interested in hands-on stewardship, leading hikes, joining the Rapid Response Team, or organizing private volunteer events for your group, there’s a place for you to contribute.
At Forest Park Conservancy, we believe everyone can play a part in preserving Portland’s natural treasures. All training, tools, and guidance are provided—no experience necessary. Join us and help protect, restore, and celebrate one of the largest urban forests in the country while connecting with your community and the outdoors.
