Overview
Since 1993, Mountain Trails Foundation has been at the heart of Park City’s outdoor culture, turning a handful of hand-cut paths into more than 400 miles of continuous, non-motorized trails. From high-alpine ridgelines to flowy singletrack, these trails are free and open year-round for everyone to enjoy.
Through advocacy, education, and hands-on trail work, Mountain Trails Foundation protects access, promotes trail etiquette, and ensures Park City remains one of the premier trail destinations in the world. Their year-round crew, partnerships with local land managers, and dedicated volunteers all help keep the system thriving for hikers, runners, bikers, and Nordic skiers alike.
Philosophy
At Mountain Trails Foundation, trails are more than dirt—they’re culture, connection, and community. Every mile reflects the hard work of local stewards, the support of donors, and the shared belief that access to nature should be free and lasting. Their commitment is simple: build responsibly, maintain diligently, protect fiercely, and always honor the deep connection between people and place.
