Overview

Runners for Public Lands empowers the trail running community to care for the landscapes they love. Through our Trail Work Series, we partner with local trail organizations, clubs, and races to host volunteer events that combine hands-on trail maintenance with education and advocacy.

Each series offers multiple opportunities to pitch in—whether it’s clearing trails, removing debris, or learning about sustainable trail practices—all approved, permitted, and led by trained leaders. By participating, runners not only give back to the trails they enjoy but also foster a culture of stewardship, environmental awareness, and community connection.

Our mission is simple: engage, educate, and activate runners to protect public lands for generations to come.
