Soul-stirring ridgelines and volcanic views above the Columbia River Gorge
Overview
The Coyote Wall Trail Races are back for their fifth edition, and they’re bigger, bolder, and more beautiful than ever. These races cut through the Columbia River Gorge rainshadow, where sweeping views, rugged climbs, and diverse ecosystems make every mile an adventure worth remembering.
The 55K and 25K are designed as immersive tours of the Gorge, with everything from oak savannas to fir forests to golden grasslands under wide-open skies. Mount Hood looms dramatically over much of the course, while the Columbia River glitters below. With dedicated volunteers, delicious post-race pizza, and a strong sense of trail community, this is more than a race — it’s a celebration of wild running in one of the Pacific Northwest’s most iconic landscapes.
Land Acknowledgement
The Coyote Wall Trail Races take place on the ancestral lands of the Klickitat and Yakama peoples, who have lived in this region for over 10,000 years. In their Sahaptin language, the Columbia River is called Nch’i-Wána, meaning “Great River.” Wonderland Running honors and recognizes the original stewards of these lands and offers deep gratitude for the opportunity to run here.
