Overview
The Matanuska Peak Challenge is a legendary Alaskan mountain race and part of the Alaska Mountain Running Grand Prix. Since 1989, it has tested runners with steep ascents, breathtaking alpine views, and a rugged, out-and-back course that few dare to conquer. The route takes you up Lazy Mountain, down its backside, then up to the summit of Matanuska Peak before reversing the route back to the finish. This event attracts hardcore mountain runners seeking a true physical and mental challenge.
