Run through the wildflower-painted hills above Lake Chelan

Run through the wildflower-painted hills above Lake Chelan

Overview

Echo Valley is a two-day trail celebration where every step feels like a retreat. With the sun shining down, the trails wind through ponderosa pine forests and rolling meadows bursting with lupine and balsam root. Runners are rewarded with sweeping views of Lake Chelan and the surrounding wine country, making this event a yearly favorite.

This is a true mountain weekend. Families can join in for the kids’ race, campers can pitch a tent right at the ski area start line, and long-distance runners can chase new personal records on smooth, flowing singletrack. Whether you are out for your first 50K or cheering from the sidelines with a glass of local wine, Echo Valley is about sunshine, trails, and community.

Course Description

From the base of Echo Valley ski area, runners begin with a sustained but gentle climb on singletrack before opening into rolling trails lined with wildflowers. The 10K dives back down to the finish through Bergman Gulch, while the Half and 50K continue deeper into the ponderosa forest. The Half Marathon follows a shortened portion of the 50K route, with both courses finishing on the playful descent of Waterbar Heaven and one final short climb before the finish. Expect smooth, non-technical trails, wide open views of the Chelan Valley, and a friendly course perfect for both first-timers and seasoned racers.

  • Half Marathon is a scenic loop covering a portion of the 50K course through meadows and forest trails

About

Evergreen Trail Runs

Evergreen Trail Runs is a Pacific Northwest-based trail racing organization dedicated to creating inclusive, community-oriented events across Western Washington. Founded in 2010 by Roger Michel and Yumay Chang, Evergreen began with a vision to connect runners with the region’s rich network of trails. Now a part of Orca Running, Evergreen Trail Runs continues to thrive under the leadership of Co-Owners Katie Warren, Porter Bratten, and Ashley Lee.

What sets Evergreen apart is its approachable and friendly atmosphere, along with its deep respect for the natural environment. The crew behind the scenes are mountain lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who bring that passion to every event—from race logistics and course setup to volunteer coordination and marketing. The team is a tight-knit group of runners, adventurers, and professionals who live and breathe the outdoors, including avalanche forecasters, endurance athletes, and social media storytellers.

Evergreen Trail Runs is more than just a race organizer—it’s a movement rooted in stewardship, adventure, and joy on the trails. Runners show up not just to race, but to be part of something bigger: a trail-loving, mountain-moving, environmentally conscious community.
