Overview

Oregon Cascades is where mountain running dreams come alive. These point-to-point courses connect Bend and Sisters—two of Oregon’s premier trail towns—by weaving through smooth singletrack, rugged terrain, and alpine vistas in the shadow of the mighty Cascade Range.

The 100 mile course is a true test of grit, with relentless climbing early on, while the 50 mile course offers a fast, fun ride with generous cutoffs and sweeping views. Whether you’re running, crewing, or cheering from the finish line, Oregon Cascades is a celebration of trail community and mountain adventure.

The Oregon Cascades races connect Bend and Sisters via some of the most iconic singletrack in Central Oregon. Runners will wind through alpine forests, meadows, and ridgelines with constant views of Mount Bachelor, the Three Sisters, and the surrounding Cascade peaks. Expect buttery singletrack mixed with rugged stretches, net downhill racing into Sisters, and the kind of trails that make Central Oregon legendary.

Dogs

The race does not offer a separate kids race, but families are encouraged to bring children to cheer at the finish line in Sisters. Children must remain supervised at all times.

Crew, Pacers & Spectators

Crew is welcome at designated aid stations and at the Sisters Middle School finish line. Visitors can enjoy the vibrant town of Sisters, local breweries, and mountain views while waiting for runners. Crew must respect volunteer instructions, follow all parking guidelines, and leave no trace.

Volunteers

Every race has a secret sauce—and it’s not the aid station snacks. It’s the volunteers. Without their energy, smiles, and hard work, none of these events would happen.

Volunteering is a chance to give back to the trail running community, cheer on runners from a different perspective, and maybe even scope out what racing feels like before signing up yourself. Whatever brings you to the volunteer crew, we see you as partners—and we celebrate you like the trail heroes you are.

What You’ll Get as a Volunteer

At Alpine Running races, volunteers receive:

  • A quality race t-shirt (wear it with pride!)

  • A post-race meal and beverage—because good food tastes even better after trail magic

  • Race credit toward a future Alpine Running event

A Few Ground Rules

To keep things fair and sustainable, here’s how volunteer benefits work:

  • Credits expire within one year of being issued.

  • Credits don’t apply to volunteers associated with race sponsors.*

  • Credits and race-day perks are for folks who sign up ahead of time and fill their assigned role.

  • Credits can only be redeemed online during registration.

Alpine Running reserves the right to adjust credits, restrictions, or benefits if needed.

*If you’re part of a sponsor team, reach out to Alpine Running to learn more about your special perks!
