Overview
Elevation Culture Race Series, LLC is a multi-state trail race series founded in 2015 by Eric Chrisman in San Diego, CA, now based in Golden, Colorado. Since founding the series, Chrisman has produced over 3,000 mountain sports events across the country and is credited with creating the first handcrafted wooden race medal. The series produces trail running, gravel, and off-road multisport events across California, Utah, Missouri, and Colorado, with a focus on community and an elevated race-day experience: cupless races, an "Elevated Camp" post-race area (food, music, recovery, hammocks), and a dedicated crew for race-day media, finish-line festivities, and course marking.

Volunteering
Volunteers receive free entry into any Elevation Culture Race Series event and 50% off the online store, usable within one race calendar year and transferable to family or friends. Paid key positions include Lead Volunteer Coordinator, Aid Station Captains, Merch Tent, and Medical Lead. The series also offers volunteer-hour matching: email your hours, the event name, and your role from volunteering at another local race, and receive a $1-per-hour discount toward any Elevation Culture Race Series event.
Policies
Refunds are issued only as credits toward any Elevation Culture race, for 100% of the entry fee, up to 90 days before race day; no refunds or credits after that point except at the race director's discretion for injuries or major life events. No cash refunds are given. Entries can be transferred to another person free of charge by emailing the team, though swag isn't guaranteed for late transfers. Distance downgrades carry no refund or credit for the difference; upgrades require paying the difference (in cash on race day, if done there), with distance-specific swag not guaranteed if requested within 14 days of the race. Deferrals are granted for illness, pregnancy, or a death in the family; other circumstances are considered at the organizers' discretion. If an event is canceled or postponed for safety reasons (weather, fire, etc.), there are no refunds, credits, or deferrals — a virtual option and automatic registration for a rescheduled date are offered instead. All events are cupless. Drop bags are permitted only for 50K/50M distances at designated locations. Dogs are not allowed at any event. Pacers are not allowed at any event except the San Diego 50 Miler. Race-day registration is available (cash, credit, or debit — no checks), though a shirt or medal isn't guaranteed for day-of sign-ups. Awards go to the top 3 finishers in each distance plus open age-group awards. Live results are posted on race day, with official results following 2-4 days later; race photos are available for purchase 5-10 days post-race.
