Overview
Founded in the early 1990s by Dave Howard, West Seattle Running Club still gathers every Sunday morning at Alki Beach's miniature Statue of Liberty. A dozen or two runners split into pace groups for a flat, paved run along the Sound, then regroup for coffee afterward. All levels are welcome, from run-walkers to competitive racers. Membership is a $25 annual fee, and the club is known for its close-knit, second-family feel.
