A Forested Loop Below Mount Ellinor
Overview
A shorter, forested loop around the base of Mount Ellinor, run the day after the Skyrace.
Course
Technical alpine terrain, steep climbs, and breathtaking views of Lake Cushman and the Olympic Peninsula
Skyrace (22K) — a certified International Skyrunning Federation course with over 5,300 ft of vertical gain, climbing to the summit of Mt. Ellinor before a quad-busting descent
Forest Loop (5 miles) — scenic forest route with 1,200 ft of gain, lush green trails, streams, and wooden bridges
Double Beast — complete both the Skyrace and the Forest Loop across two days
Getting There
Carpooling recommended to reduce traffic and parking congestion
Start & Finish — Big Creek Campground, near Lake Cushman, Hoodsport, WA
Additional camping and lodging options near Lake Cushman and Hoodsport
Limited on-site camping available (reserve early)
