Mountain Lakes 100 is one of the country’s most scenic and well-supported 100-mile races. This classic Oregon ultra showcases the best of the Pacific Northwest: stunning alpine lakes, old-growth forests, and dramatic views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson. With over 60 miles of the iconic Pacific Crest Trail, this race combines beauty with a true endurance challenge.

The course follows the iconic Pacific Crest Trail, weaving between Mt. Jefferson and Mt. Hood. Expect long stretches of buttery single track, technical rocky sections that keep you honest, and panoramic views that will stop you in your tracks. You’ll skirt alpine lakes, climb through lush forests, and tackle challenging climbs and descents as you push toward the finish line.

Logistics
Portland International Airport is 99 miles from the race start and approximately a 2.5-hour drive. Bend is another gateway city with nearby lodging and airport access.
Driving Directions
Parking
Parking is limited. Long-term and short-term options are available near Olallie Lake Resort, with overflow road parking north of the aid station. Carpooling is required for crew and visitors. No overnight parking is allowed.
Lodging
Olallie Lake Resort offers rustic cabins and yurts. Nearby campgrounds include Paul Dennis and Olallie Meadows (first-come, first-served). Timothy Lake and Detroit Lake also offer camping and rental options. Government Camp has lodging 20 miles away.
Aid Stations
Runners will encounter fully stocked aid stations along the course with water, electrolyte drinks, and a wide variety of food. Some stations accept drop bags. HAM radio support is on-site for communication.
Race Requirements
Runners must be prepared for remote conditions, variable mountain weather, and long unsupported stretches between aid stations. Prior ultramarathon experience is strongly recommended.
Trail Work
All entrants must complete 8 hours of trail work between October 1, 2024, and September 1, 2025. Work may be completed anywhere in the world and must be signed off by a trail work supervisor. Proof must be submitted to organizers.
Qualifying Races
Runners must demonstrate experience at ultramarathon distances.
Mandatory Gear
Runners should be prepared with weather-appropriate gear, including nighttime layers and hydration systems.

Cancelations & Deferrals
Cancel more than 30 days before; get 50 percent future race credit (valid 365 days, includes full apparel credit, not transferrable). Cancel 30 days or less before; no credit, no refund, no transfer. See race website for full cancelation policy
Crew, Pacers & Spectators
Crew and spectators are welcome but must follow parking and access guidelines. Carpooling is strongly encouraged due to limited space. Visitors should be prepared for remote conditions and limited amenities.
Volunteers

Proceeds support trail maintenance groups that keep the Pacific Crest Trail and surrounding wilderness open and safe.
