Overview
A loop around Sasamat and Buntzen Lakes retracing much of the Diez Vista route via shorter options, with climbs, descents, and technical terrain typical of CMTR races. A good training race for tackling the Diez Vista 50K in April.

Skirts around Sasamat Lake on the Buntzen Ridge Trail, with a glimpse of Buntzen Lake.

Friday 4:00-7:00 PM at Runners' Den (Port Moody); Saturday 7:45-9:15 AM at the race start. Photo ID required.
Swag & Medals
All entries include a $5 donation to Coquitlam Search & Rescue, a tree planted through a Fraser Valley Indigenous Lands reforestation partnership, a branded beer glass, a CMTR tote bag, a sticker, post-race soup and sushi, post-race massage, and professional chip timing.

About Coast Mountain Trail Series

Coast Mountain Trail Running (CMTR) produces some of British Columbia’s most beloved and challenging trail races. Founded by Gary Robbins and Geoff Langford, CMTR blends rugged coastal terrain with top-tier race organization, fostering a deeply loyal community of trail runners across all ability levels. Each race reflects CMTR’s commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and community stewardship. They operate as a carbon-neutral company (aiming to go carbon-negative), donate $5–$10 per race entry to local search and rescue and trail organizations, and plant one tree per runner through an Indigenous-led reforestation partnership. To date, they’ve donated over $465,000 and planted more than 16,000 trees.
